Your Diet For Asthma -
The First Step
In Treating Asthma Naturally

Your diet for asthma should include an abundance of fresh vegetables and fruits, nuts, oats, brown rice and whole grains. The diet should be relatively high in protein, low in carbohydrates.

Garlic and onions are excellent anti-inflammatory foods to include in your asthma diet. They inhibit an enzyme that aids in releasing inflammatory chemicals.

asthma diet Foods to avoid:
Dairy, as it increases mucous
White sugar and anything that contains it.

Try eliminating the following foods one at a time to see which foods aggravate your condition. Foods that can cause asthma symptoms include:

  • Dairy
  • White sugar
  • White flour
  • Gluten
  • Table salt
  • Processed foods
  • Foods containing food color and additives
  • Peanuts
  • Alfalfa
  • Corn
  • Beets
  • Carrots
  • Spinach
  • Colas
  • Soy

  • Sometimes the body can be having difficulty digesting proteins so you might try eating a vegetarian diet for a week or two to see if your symptoms improve. One of these foods could be increasing your symptoms.

  • Red meat
  • Chicken and Turkey
  • Fish or sea food
  • Eggs
  • Do not drink very cold drinks or eat ice cream. Not only do they shock the digestive system, they also shock the bronchial tubes. Avoid gas-producing foods, or eat them in small quantities, as they put pressure on the diaphragm (foods such as beans, cauliflower, broccoli).

Your diet should include light meals. A large meal will put pressure on the abdomen. By following your asthma diet you should be able to alleviate your symptoms and work towards a complete natural cure for asthma.
